Technical Meeting for Asian Forest Cooperation Organization (AFoCO)2017-07-18

From 3 July to 7 July, the Technical Meeting for the Asian Forest Cooperation Organization (AFoCO) was held in Bangkok, Thailand. The meeting reviewed internal rules and regulations to be implemented for AFoCO, as well as the Strategic Plan and Project Manual of AFoCO. Delegates from prospective member countries of Bhutan, Brunei Darussalam, Cambodia Indonesia, Lao PDR, Mongolia, Myanmar, Philippines, Thailand, Viet Nam, and the Republic of Korea attended the Meeting.

The Meeting was chaired by Mr. Choi Youngtae of the Korea Forest Service and Mr. Sapol Boonsermsuk of the Royal Forest Department of Thailand.

In the Meeting, the Rules of Procedures for the Assembly was reviewed and approved. The Staff Regulations of the Secretariat and the Financial Regulations of the Secretariat were also reviewed with active commenting from delegates. The Staff Regulations and the Financial Regulations were agreed to be circulated with revisions and additional documents to be discussed at a following meeting.

The Meeting was also introduced with the Strategic Plan and Project Manual of AFoCO. Delegates actively shared their knowledge and national situations to improve the two documents.

Between the Meeting, the Secretariat arranged a field trip.
